Filters & Bearingsfor Vacuum Pumps

Inlet filters, oil filters, exhaust mist eliminators, and bearings for every major vacuum pump brand. Coalescing exhaust filters, sintered inlet filters, oil filter cartridges, and pump and motor bearings. Next-day UK delivery.

What are filters & bearings?

Vacuum pump filters protect the pump from inlet contamination and remove oil mist from the exhaust; bearings support the rotating shaft. Both are routine wear items replaced at scheduled service intervals.

What this category covers

What's included in filters & bearings

  • Inlet filters — sintered metal or pleated paper elements that trap particulate before the pump
  • Oil filters — replaceable cartridges that trap solids in circulating pump oil
  • Exhaust mist eliminators (coalescing filters) — coalesce oil aerosol from the exhaust gas to atmosphere
  • Filter service kits — pre-packaged sets containing all the filter elements + a charge of pump oil for routine 500h–2,000h maintenance. See Service Kits for the full kit-tier breakdown.
  • Bacterial inline filters — 0.2 µm filters for medical CMVS and pharma duty
  • Pump bearings — rotating shaft bearings (typically deep-groove or angular contact ball bearings)
  • Motor bearings — drive motor bearings, often serviced at the same interval as pump bearings
When to replace

When should filters & bearings be replaced?

Manufacturer's scheduled service interval

Oil filter every oil change; exhaust mist filter every 2,000 hours typical; bearings every major overhaul (8,000–16,000h).

Visible oil mist from exhaust port

Exhaust mist filter is saturated. Replace promptly — both for environmental compliance and to maintain pumping performance.

Bearing noise — squealing, grinding, or rumbling

Bearing failure imminent. Stop and inspect; running on failed bearings will damage the shaft.

Pressure drop across filter housing

Inlet filter clogged. Replace and investigate the source of contamination.

Signs of wear

How to spot a problem

  • Visible oil mist or oil droplets at exhaust port
  • Higher operating temperature than baseline
  • Audible bearing noise (squeal, rumble, grinding)
  • Vibration at the bearing housing
  • Reduced pumping speed (clogged inlet filter)

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about filters & bearings

Inlet filters protect the pump from particulate in the process gas — typically sintered metal or pleated paper. Exhaust filters (coalescing mist eliminators) coalesce oil mist out of the exhaust before it reaches atmosphere, both for environmental reasons and to recover oil back into the pump.
