Vacuum Pump Installations
We supply and install new vacuum pumps and complete pumping systems across the UK — from single rotary-vane swap-outs to multi-pump central vacuum and CMVS installations. Mechanical and electrical fit, commissioning, performance test, operator handover, and a documented installation file.
Vacuum pump installation is the supply, mechanical and electrical fitting, commissioning, and performance verification of a new vacuum pump or pumping system at the customer's facility — including pipework connection, electrical isolation, controls integration, and operator handover.
Site survey within 1–2 weeks of enquiry; installation date depends on pump lead time and customer site availability.
- •Mechanical installation per manufacturer recommendations
- •Electrical installation by competent persons (UK BS 7671)
- •Commissioning records issued per pump
What you get with installations
Site survey
Pre-installation visit to confirm location, electrical supply, exhaust route, cooling, and any control or interlock requirements.
Pump supply
New OEM pump supplied to the agreed specification — Edwards, Leybold, Busch, Becker, Elmo Rietschle, or as specified.
Mechanical fit
Pump mounted, pipework connected (ISO-K, KF, NW or NPT as appropriate), exhaust routed, gas-ballast valve plumbed, vibration isolation fitted.
Electrical fit and controls
Power connection through the customer's isolator, control wiring to existing tooling or new VFD, interlocks integrated where required.
Commissioning and performance test
Initial run, leak check, ultimate vacuum measured at the pump and at the use-point, pumping speed verified.
Operator handover and installation file
Walkthrough with site personnel, installation file (datasheet, electrical certificate, leak-test results, recommended service intervals), warranty registration.
From booking to handover
- 1
1. Specification and quote
Tell us the application — process, vacuum level required, gas type, duty cycle. We size the pump and quote supply + installation.
- 2
2. Site survey
Pre-installation visit to confirm location, services, and any specific site requirements.
- 3
3. Order and lead time
Pump ordered. Lead times depend on the model — common rotary vane models are usually ex-stock; specialist semiconductor or analytical pumps may be 2–6 weeks.
- 4
4. Installation
Pump delivered to site and installed by our engineers, typically a one-day visit for a single pump, multi-day for central systems.
- 5
5. Commissioning
First run, leak check, performance verification, and operator handover.
- 6
6. Service plan
Recommended service intervals scheduled into your maintenance calendar; first service typically 100h after installation.
When you'd typically need installations
Common scenarios where customers ask for this service. If your situation isn't listed but sounds related, get in touch — we can advise.
- Replacing a worn-out pump that's beyond economical refurbishment
- New process line requiring vacuum supply
- Upgrading from oil-sealed to dry technology (cleanroom, food, pharma)
- Adding redundancy to an existing single-pump installation
- Central vacuum system installation across multiple use-points
Equipment we work on
- Edwards — primary distributor partner; full product range
- Leybold, Busch, Pfeiffer, Becker, Elmo Rietschle as required
- Specialist suppliers for semiconductor, analytical, or aerospace applications
